Honey Market Size in the Netherlands

The revenue of the honey market in the Netherlands amounted to $X in 2018, therefore, remained relatively stable against the previous year. From 2014 to 2018, the growth of honey exports failed to regain its momentum.

Exports by Country

Germany (X tonnes), Belgium (X tonnes) and the UK (X tonnes) were the main destinations of honey exports from the Netherlands, with a combined X% share of total exports. These countries were followed by France, Poland, Malta, Sweden and Iceland, which together accounted for a further X 2007 to 2018, the most notable rate of growth in terms of exports, amongst the main countries of destination, was attained by Iceland, while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, the largest markets for honey exported from the Netherlands were Germany ($X), Belgium ($X) and the UK ($X), with a combined X% share of total exports. Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination; the country with the highest price was Germany ($X per tonne), while the average price for exports to the UK ($X per tonne) was amongst the lowest.

From 2007 to 2018, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Germany, while the prices for the other major destinations experienced mixed trend patterns.

Over the period under review, the total imports indicated strong growth from 2007 to 2018: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +X% over the last eleven years. Over the period under review, the average import prices for honey attained their peak figure at $X per tonne in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2018, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2018, the country with the highest price was Spain ($X per tonne), while the price for China ($X per tonne) was amongst the lowest.

From 2007 to 2018, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Mexico, while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
