The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when exports increased by 79% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports hit record highs in 2021 and are expected to retain growth in the near future.
In value terms, desktop computer exports skyrocketed to $X in 2021. In general, exports enjoyed a buoyant increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 with an increase of 74%. Over the period under review, the exports attained the maximum in 2021 and are expected to retain growth in the near future.
Exports by Country
Germany (X units), France (X units) and Belgium (X units) were the main destinations of desktop computer exports from the Netherlands, together comprising 49% of total exports. These countries were followed by Italy, Spain, Poland, the Czech Republic, Turkey, the UK, Sweden, Ireland, Denmark and the United States, which together accounted for a further 38%.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the main countries of destination, was attained by Ireland (with a CAGR of +42.4%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, the largest markets for desktop computer exported from the Netherlands were Germany ($X), France ($X) and Italy ($X), with a combined 51% share of total exports. Belgium, Spain, the Czech Republic, the UK, Poland, Ireland, Sweden, Turkey, the United States and Denmark lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 36%.
Ireland, with a CAGR of +26.0%, saw the highest growth rate of the value of exports, in terms of the main countries of destination over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Export Prices by Country
The average desktop computer export price stood at $X per unit in 2021, increasing by 17% against the previous year. Overall, the export price, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The export price peaked at $X per unit in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major overseas markets. In 2021, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was the UK ($X per unit), while the average price for exports to Belgium ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the UK (+7.1%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports into the Netherlands
In 2021, overseas purchases of desktop computers increased by 29% to X units, rising for the third year in a row after two years of decline. Over the period under review, total imports indicated a buoyant expansion from 2012 to 2021: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +5.3% over the last nine years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, imports increased by +89.6% against 2018 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2014 with an increase of 51%. As a result, imports attained the peak of X units; afterwards, it flattened through to 2021.
In value terms, desktop computer imports skyrocketed to $X in 2021. In general, imports showed strong growth. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 when imports increased by 101% against the previous year. Imports peaked in 2021 and are likely to continue growth in the near future.

China (X units), Poland (X units) and the Czech Republic (X units) were the main suppliers of desktop computer imports to the Netherlands, together accounting for 78% of total imports.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the main suppliers, was attained by the Czech Republic (with a CAGR of +127.8%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, China ($X), Poland ($X) and the Czech Republic ($X) constituted the largest desktop computer suppliers to the Netherlands, with a combined 86% share of total imports.
Among the main suppliers, Poland, with a CAGR of +126.8%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2021, the average desktop computer import price amounted to $X per unit, picking up by 21% against the previous year. Overall, the import price posted a notable increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 an increase of 46%. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the maximum in 2021 and is expected to retain growth in the near future.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2021, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was the Czech Republic ($X per unit), while the price for Hungary ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
