Exports of Crabs and Crab Meat

Exports from the Netherlands

In 2022, shipments abroad of crabs and crab meat decreased by X% to X tons, falling for the second consecutive year after three years of growth. In general, exports, however, showed strong growth. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 when exports increased by X% against the previous year. As a result, the exports reached the peak of X tons. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of the exports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, crab and crab meat exports contracted significantly to $X in 2022. Overall, exports, however, showed buoyant growth. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 when exports increased by X%. As a result, the exports attained the peak of $X. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of the exports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

China (X tons), France (X tons) and Germany (X tons) were the main destinations of crab and crab meat exports from the Netherlands, together accounting for X% of total exports. South Korea, Belgium, Spain, Italy, the UK, Taiwan (Chinese), Sweden and Japan lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further X%.
