In value terms, Germany ($X) remains the key foreign market for clay exports from the Netherlands, comprising 52% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Belgium ($X), with a 15% share of total exports. It was followed by France, with a 6.3% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value to Germany stood at +8.5%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Belgium (+7.7% per year) and France (+10.4% per year).

Imports into the Netherlands

Turkey (X tons), Germany (X tons) and the United States (X tons) were the main suppliers of clay imports to the Netherlands, with a combined 70% share of total imports.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the main suppliers, was attained by Turkey (with a CAGR of +15.1%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, Turkey ($X), Germany ($X) and the United States ($X) were the largest clay suppliers to the Netherlands, together accounting for 58% of total imports.
