Exports from the Netherlands

In 2022, shipments abroad of aluminium tubes and pipes decreased by X% to X tons for the first time since 2019, thus ending a two-year rising trend. Over the period under review, exports, however, recorded strong growth. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 with an increase of X%. The exports peaked at X tons in 2021, and then reduced in the following year.

In value terms, aluminium tube exports contracted significantly to $X in 2022. Overall, exports, however, saw a resilient expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when exports increased by X% against the previous year. The exports peaked at $X in 2021, and then fell notably in the following year.

Exports by Country

Poland (X tons), Belgium (X tons) and France (X tons) were the main destinations of aluminium tube exports from the Netherlands, together accounting for X% of total exports. Germany, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Austria, Lithuania, the UK, Sweden, Spain, Luxembourg and Slovenia lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further X%.

From 2012 to 2022, the biggest increases were recorded for Austria (with a CAGR of X%), while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Over the period under review, imports, however, saw a pronounced shrinkage. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 when imports increased by X% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of X tons. From 2017 to 2022, the growth of imports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, aluminium tube imports soared to $X in 2022. Overall, total imports indicated mild growth from 2012 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of X% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2015 with an increase of X%. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at $X in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2022, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
