The growth pace was the most rapid in 2014 with an increase of 74%. The exports peaked at $X in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2021, the exports failed to regain momentum.
Exports by Country
Mauritania (X tons) was the main destination for paper tablecloths exports from Morocco, accounting for a 97% share of total exports. It was followed by Spain (X kg), with a 1.9% share of total exports.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume to Mauritania totaled +66.2%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Spain (-7.4% per year) and Senegal (-30.0% per year).
In value terms, Mauritania ($X) emerged as the key foreign market for paper tablecloths exports from Morocco, comprising 93% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Spain ($X), with a 3.9% share of total exports.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value to Mauritania totaled +91.5%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Spain (+7.7% per year) and Senegal (-24.7% per year).

The average paper tablecloths export price stood at $X per ton in 2021, approximately equating the previous year. Over the period under review, export price indicated a noticeable expansion from 2012 to 2021: its price increased at an average annual rate of +2.5% over the last nine-year period. From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Spain (+16.4%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports into Morocco
In 2021, imports of paper tablecloths and serviettes into Morocco expanded remarkably to X tons, growing by 12% compared with 2020 figures. In general, imports, however, continue to indicate a noticeable shrinkage. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2015 with an increase of 15% against the previous year. Imports peaked at X tons in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2021, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value from Spain totaled -3.2%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Turkey (+2.7% per year) and Tunisia (+4.6% per year).

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2021, the country with the highest price was France ($X per ton), while the price for Turkey ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
