From 2019 to 2021, the growth of the exports remained at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, nitrogenous fertilizer exports shrank notably to $X in 2021. In general, exports, however, enjoyed strong growth. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2018 when exports increased by X% against the previous year. As a result, the exports reached the peak of $X. From 2019 to 2021, the growth of the exports failed to regain momentum.
Exports by Country
Ghana (X tons) was the main destination for nitrogenous fertilizer exports from Morocco, accounting for a X% share of total exports. Moreover, nitrogenous fertilizer exports to Ghana exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Mauritania (X tons), threefold. The third position in this ranking was taken by Burkina Faso (X tons), with a X% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume to Ghana amounted to +X%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Mauritania (+X% per year) and Burkina Faso (+X% per year).
In value terms, the largest markets for nitrogenous fertilizer exported from Morocco were Ghana ($X), Mauritania ($X) and Angola ($X), with a combined X% share of total exports. These countries were followed by Burkina Faso, Zambia, Oman and Mali, which together accounted for a further X, with a CAGR of +X%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of exports, among the main countries of destination over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average nitrogenous fertilizer export price stood at $X per ton in 2021, rising by X% against the previous year. In general, the export price, however, recorded a perceptible contraction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2015 when the average export price increased by X%. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $X per ton. From 2016 to 2021, the the average export prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major foreign markets. In 2021, the country with the highest price was Mauritania ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to Mali ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Mauritania (+X%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced mixed trend patterns.

Imports into Morocco
In 2021, nitrogenous fertilizer imports into Morocco shrank to X tons, with a decrease of -X% on 2020 figures. Overall, total imports indicated resilient growth from 2012 to 2021: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +X% over the last nine-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, imports increased by +X% against 2019 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 when imports increased by X% against the previous year. There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2021, the country with the highest price was Sweden ($X per ton), while the price for Germany ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Sweden (-X%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.
