Exports in the Middle East
In 2022, exports of wine and grape must in the Middle East declined to X litres, reducing by X% on the previous year's figure. Overall, exports, however, recorded a resilient increase. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2017 with an increase of X%. Over the period under review, the exports hit record highs at X litres in 2021, and then declined in the following year.
In value terms, wine exports expanded notably to $X in 2022. Total exports indicated a prominent expansion from 2012 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of X% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, exports increased by X% against 2020 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2013 with an increase of X% against the previous year. The level of export peaked in 2022 and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
Exports by Country
Israel prevails in exports structure, finishing at X litres, which was near X% of total exports in 2022. Turkey (X litres) held an X% share (based on physical terms) of total exports, which put it in second place, followed by Lebanon (X%). The United Arab Emirates (X litres) followed a long way behind the leaders.
Israel was also the fastest-growing in terms of the wine and grape must exports, with a CAGR of X% from 2012 to 2022. At the same time, Lebanon (X%), the United Arab Emirates (X%) and Turkey (X%) displayed positive paces of growth. While the share of Israel (X p.p.) increased significantly in terms of the total exports from 2012-2022, the share of the United Arab Emirates (X p.p.), Lebanon (X p.p.) and Turkey (X p.p.) displayed negative dynamics.
In value terms, Israel ($X) remains the largest wine supplier in the Middle East, comprising X% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by Lebanon ($X), with a X% share of total exports. It was followed by Turkey, with a X% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value in Israel amounted to X%. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Lebanon (X% per year) and Turkey (X% per year).
Export Prices by Country
The export price in the Middle East stood at $X per litre in 2022, growing by X% against the previous year. In general, the export price, however, recorded a perceptible descent. Over the period under review, the export prices attained the peak figure at $X per litre in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2022, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Lebanon ($X per litre), while Israel ($X per litre) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Turkey (X%), while the other leaders experienced mixed trends in the export price figures.

Total imports indicated a prominent increase from 2012 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of X% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by X% against 2020 indices. As a result, imports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

It was distantly followed by Israel (X litres) and Turkey (X litres), together mixing up a X% share of total imports. The following importers - Qatar (X litres), Lebanon (X litres), Bahrain (X litres) and Jordan (X litres) - together made up X% of total imports.
From 2012 to 2022, average annual rates of growth with regard to wine imports into the United Arab Emirates stood at X%. At the same time, Jordan (X%), Turkey (X%), Israel (X%) and Lebanon (X%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Jordan emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in the Middle East, with a CAGR of X% from 2012-2022. By contrast, Bahrain (X%) and Qatar (X%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. While the share of Israel (X p.p.), Turkey (X p.p.) and the United Arab Emirates (X p.p.) increased significantly in terms of the total imports from 2012-2022, the share of Bahrain (X p.p.) and Qatar (X p.p.) displayed negative dynamics. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
