The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2017 figures, the tomato puree exports decreased by -X% against 2014 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014, when it surged by X% against the previous year. In that year, the tomato puree exports reached their peak volume of X tonnes. From 2015 to 2017, growth of the tomato puree exports stood at a somewhat lower level.

In value terms, tomato puree exports totaled $X in 2017. The total exports indicated a strong increase from 2007 to 2017: its value increased at an average annual rate of +X% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2017 figures, the tomato puree exports decreased by -X% against 2014 indices. Over the period under review, the tomato puree exports attained its maximum level of $X in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2017, it failed to regain its momentum.

Tomato Puree Exports by Country in Middle East

In 2017, Turkey (X tonnes) represented the key exporter for tomato puree and paste, constituting X% of total exports. It was distantly followed by the United Arab Emirates (X tonnes), achieving X% share of total exports. Oman (X tonnes), Saudi Arabia (X tonnes), Iran (X tonnes), Bahrain (X tonnes) and Israel (X tonnes) occupied the weak share of total exports.

From 2007 to 2017, average annual rates of growth with regard to tomato puree exports from Turkey stood at +X%. At the same time, Bahrain (+X%), the United Arab Emirates (+X%) and Saudi Arabia (+X%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Bahrain emerged as the fastest growing exporter in Middle East, with a CAGR of +X% from 2007-2017. By contrast, Oman (-X%), Israel (-X%) and Iran (-X%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. In that year, the export prices for tomato puree and paste reached their peak level of $X per tonne. From 2009 to 2017, growth of the export prices for tomato puree and paste failed to regain its momentum.

Export prices varied noticeably by the country of destination; the country with the highest export price was Saudi Arabia ($X per tonne), while Iran ($X per tonne) was amongst the lowest.

From 2007 to 2017, the most notable rate of growth in terms of export prices was attained by the United Arab Emirates (+X% per year), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

The imports amounted to X tonnes in 2017, picking up by X% against the previous year. The total imports indicated a prominent growth from 2007 to 2017: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +X% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2017 figures, the tomato puree imports increased by +X% against 2012 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2010, when imports increased by X% y-o-y. Over the period under review, the tomato puree imports attained its maximum volume in 2017, and are expected to retain its growth in the immediate term.

In 2017, the tomato puree import price in Middle East amounted to $X per tonne, going up by X% against the previous year. Over the last decade, it increased at an average annual rate of +X%. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2008, when it surged by X% y-o-y. The level of import price peaked of $X per tonne in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2017, it stood at a somewhat lower level.

Average import prices varied noticeably amongst the major importing countries.
