The growth pace was the most rapid in 2010, when imports increased by X% y-o-y. Over the period under review, sawn wood imports attained their peak figure at $X in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2018, imports failed to regain their momentum.

Imports by Country

Saudi Arabia represented the largest importing country with an import of about X cubic meters, which amounted to X% of total imports. Israel (X cubic meters) ranks second in terms of the total imports with a X% share, followed by the United Arab Emirates (X%) and Turkey (X%). The following importers - Iran (X cubic meters) and Iraq (X cubic meters) together made up X% of total imports.

Saudi Arabia was also the fastest growing in terms of the wood sawn or chipped lengthwise imports, with a CAGR of +X% from 2007 to 2018. At the same time, Israel (+X%) and Iran (+X%) displayed positive paces of growth. Iraq experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. By contrast, the United Arab Emirates (-X%) and Turkey (-X%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. From 2007 to 2018, the share of Turkey increased by X% percentage points, while Iran (-X%), Israel (-X%) and Saudi Arabia (-X%) saw their share reduced.
