Exports in the Middle East
In 2022, shipments abroad of raspberries, blackberries, blueberries, and cranberries decreased by X% to X tons for the first time since 2019, thus ending a two-year rising trend. Overall, exports, however, enjoyed mild growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of X% against the previous year. As a result, the exports attained the peak of X tons, and then fell dramatically in the following year.
In value terms, raspberry, blackberry, blueberry, and cranberry exports shrank rapidly to $X in 2022. In general, exports, however, saw a strong increase. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of X% against the previous year. As a result, the exports attained the peak of $X, and then declined dramatically in the following year.
Exports by Country
In 2022, Turkey (X tons) was the major exporter of raspberries, blackberries, blueberries, and cranberries, achieving X% of total exports. The United Arab Emirates (X tons) ranks second in terms of the total exports with a X% share, followed by Iran (X%). The following exporters - Bahrain (X tons) and Israel (X tons) - each amounted to a X% share of total exports.
Turkey was also the fastest-growing in terms of the raspberries, blackberries, blueberries, and cranberries exports, with a CAGR of X% from 2012 to 2022. At the same time, Bahrain (X%) and Iran (X%) displayed positive paces of growth. By contrast, Israel (X%) and the United Arab Emirates (X%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. Over the period under review, imports attained the peak figure in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in the near future.
