Export Prices by Country
In 2020, the prepared birds skin export price in the Middle East amounted to $X per tonne, which is down by -X% against the previous year. In general, the export price recorded a perceptible shrinkage. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 when the export price increased by X% y-o-y. The volume of import peaked in 2020 and is expected to retain growth in years to come.
In value terms, prepared birds skin imports declined to $X in 2020. In general, imports posted a significant increase. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2019 with an increase of X% y-o-y. As a result, imports reached the peak of $X, and then dropped slightly in the following year.
Imports by Country
The United Arab Emirates represented the key importer of prepared skins of birds in the Middle East, with the volume of imports finishing at X tonnes, which was near X% of total imports in 2020. Saudi Arabia (X tonnes) occupied an X% share (based on tonnes) of total imports, which put it in second place, followed by Turkey (X%). The following importers - Lebanon (X tonnes) and Kuwait (X tonnes) - together made up X% of total imports.
Imports into the United Arab Emirates increased at an average annual rate of +X% from 2007 to 2020. At the same time, Saudi Arabia (+X%), Lebanon (+X%) and Turkey (+X%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Saudi Arabia emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in the Middle East, with a CAGR of +X% from 2007-2020. By contrast, Kuwait (-X%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. The United Arab Emirates (+X p.p.) and Saudi Arabia (+X p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the total imports, while Lebanon, Turkey and Kuwait saw its share reduced by -X%, -X% and -X% from 2007 to 2020, respectively.
