Exports in the Middle East

Plastic pipe and hose exports shrank to X tons in 2022, which is down by X% compared with the year before. Overall, exports saw a mild reduction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when exports increased by X%. Over the period under review, the exports reached the peak figure at X tons in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, the exports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, plastic pipe and hose exports contracted slightly to $X in 2022. In general, exports, however, continue to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports hit record highs at $X in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Exports by Country

Turkey dominates exports structure, finishing at X tons, which was approx. X% of total exports in 2022. Saudi Arabia (X tons) held the second position in the ranking, followed by Bahrain (X tons), the United Arab Emirates (X tons), Iran (X tons) and Israel (X tons). All these countries together took approx. X% share of total exports. Oman (X tons) followed a long way behind the leaders.

From 2012 to 2022, average annual rates of growth with regard to plastic pipe and hose exports from Turkey stood at X%. At the same time, Oman (X%), Bahrain (X%), Israel (X%) and the United Arab Emirates (X%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Oman emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in the Middle East, with a CAGR of X% from 2012-2022. Saudi Arabia (X p.p.), Turkey (X p.p.), Kuwait (X p.p.) and Iraq (X p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the total imports, while Lebanon, the United Arab Emirates, Oman and Qatar saw its share reduced by X%, X%, X% and X% from 2012 to 2022, respectively.
