Milk Exports
Exports in the Middle East
In 2022, exports of milk in the Middle East contracted to X tons, dropping by X% on the previous year. Total exports indicated moderate growth from 2012 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of X% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, exports increased by X% against 2020 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 with an increase of X%. Over the period under review, the exports reached the maximum at X tons in 2021, and then contracted in the following year.
In value terms, milk exports rose rapidly to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, exports, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 with an increase of X%. The level of export peaked at $X in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Exports by Country
In 2022, Saudi Arabia (X tons) represented the main exporter of milk, creating X% of total exports. It was distantly followed by the United Arab Emirates (X tons), constituting a X% share of total exports. Turkey (X tons), Kuwait (X tons) and Oman (X tons) followed a long way behind the leaders.
From 2012 to 2022, average annual rates of growth with regard to milk exports from Saudi Arabia stood at X%. At the same time, Oman (X%), the United Arab Emirates (X%) and Turkey (X%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Oman emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in the Middle East, with a CAGR of X% from 2012-2022. By contrast, Kuwait (X%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of value in Saudi Arabia was relatively modest. The remaining exporting countries recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: the United Arab Emirates (X% per year) and Turkey (X% per year).
Export Prices by Country
The export price in the Middle East stood at $X per ton in 2022, growing by X% against the previous year. In general, the export price, however, recorded a mild downturn. The level of export peaked at $X per ton in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2022, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
