In 2023, after two years of growth, there was significant decline in shipments abroad of maize bran, when their volume decreased by X% to X tons. Overall, exports, however, showed a prominent increase. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2014 with an increase of X% against the previous year. The volume of export peaked at X tons in 2022, and then shrank in the following year.
In value terms, maize bran exports contracted rapidly to $X in 2023. Over the period under review, exports, however, continue to indicate a resilient expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when exports increased by X% against the previous year. The level of export peaked at $X in 2022, and then dropped remarkably in the following year.
Exports by Country
In 2023, the United Arab Emirates (X tons) represented the key exporter of maize bran, achieving X% of total exports. It was distantly followed by Turkey (X tons) and Syrian Arab Republic (X tons), together constituting a X% share of total exports.
The United Arab Emirates was also the fastest-growing in terms of the maize bran exports, with a CAGR of X% from 2012 to 2023. At the same time, Turkey (X%) and Syrian Arab Republic (X%) displayed positive paces of growth. From 2012 to 2023, the share of the United Arab Emirates and Turkey increased by X and X percentage points, respectively.

Total imports indicated a prominent expansion from 2012 to 2023: its volume increased at an average annual rate of X% over the last eleven-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2023 figures, imports decreased by X% against 2021 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of X%. As a result, imports reached the peak of X tons.
