Exports in the Middle East

In 2022, paper machinery exports in the Middle East declined rapidly to X units, which is down by X% against 2021 figures. In general, exports, however, enjoyed a significant increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 with an increase of X% against the previous year. The volume of export peaked at X units in 2020; however, from 2021 to 2022, the exports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, paper machinery exports declined dramatically to $X in 2022. Overall, exports, however, posted perceptible growth. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2015 with an increase of X%. Over the period under review, the exports hit record highs at $X in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, the exports failed to regain momentum.

The United Arab Emirates represented the major exporter of machinery for making paper or paperboard in the Middle East, with the volume of exports accounting for X units, which was near X% of total exports in 2022. Turkey (X units) held the second position in the ranking, distantly followed by Oman (X units) and Saudi Arabia (X units). All these countries together held approx. X% share of total exports.
