In 2022, the average yield of lettuce and chicory in the Middle East fell to X tons per ha, leveling off at 2021 figures. Overall, the yield, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2014 when the yield increased by X%. Exports in the Middle East

Lettuce and chicory exports fell remarkably to X tons in 2022, with a decrease of X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, exports showed a noticeable reduction. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2013 with an increase of X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports hit record highs at X tons in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, the exports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, lettuce and chicory exports shrank notably to $X in 2022. Overall, exports continue to indicate a pronounced shrinkage. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2013 with an increase of X%. The United Arab Emirates (X tons) held the second position in the ranking, followed by Jordan (X tons) and Turkey (X tons). All these countries together took near X% share of total exports. From 2012 to 2022, average annual rates of growth with regard to lettuce and chicory exports from Iran stood at X%. At the same time, Yemen (X%), Turkey (X%) and the United Arab Emirates (X%) displayed positive paces of growth. Export Prices by Country

In 2022, the export price in the Middle East amounted to $X per ton, leveling off at the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 an increase of X%. Over the period under review, the export prices hit record highs at $X per ton in 2020; however, from 2021 to 2022, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
