Lettuce and chicory exports fell remarkably to X tons in 2022, with a decrease of X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, exports showed a noticeable reduction. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2013 with an increase of X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports hit record highs at X tons in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, the exports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, lettuce and chicory exports shrank notably to $X in 2022. Overall, exports continue to indicate a pronounced shrinkage. The following exporters - Saudi Arabia (X tons), Yemen (X tons) and Syrian Arab Republic (X tons) - together made up X% of total exports.

From 2012 to 2022, average annual rates of growth with regard to lettuce and chicory exports from Iran stood at X%. At the same time, Yemen (X%), Turkey (X%) and the United Arab Emirates (X%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Yemen emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in the Middle East, with a CAGR of X% from 2012-2022. By contrast, Saudi Arabia (X%), Syrian Arab Republic (X%) and Jordan (X%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period.
