Exports in the Middle East
For the third consecutive year, the Middle East recorded growth in shipments abroad of ion-exchangers based on synthetic or natural polymers in primary forms, which increased by X% to X tons in 2022. In general, exports, however, showed a abrupt descent. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2018 with an increase of X%. The volume of export peaked at X tons in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the exports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, polymer ion-exchangers exports dropped modestly to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, exports posted a measured increase. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2019 with an increase of X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports reached the peak figure at $X in 2021, and then shrank in the following year.
Exports by Country
The United Arab Emirates (X tons) and Turkey (X tons) prevails in exports structure, together committing X% of total exports. It was distantly followed by Israel (X tons), creating a X% share of total exports.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the leading exporting countries, was attained by Turkey (with a CAGR of X%), while the other leaders experienced a decline in the exports figures.

Imports in the Middle East
In 2022, imports of ion-exchangers based on synthetic or natural polymers in primary forms in the Middle East rose remarkably to X tons, picking up by X% against the previous year. In general, imports, however, recorded a slight shrinkage. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 when imports increased by X% against the previous year. The volume of import peaked at X tons in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, polymer ion-exchangers imports rose markedly to $X in 2022. The total import value increased at an average annual rate of X% from 2012 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 when imports increased by X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports reached the maximum in 2022 and are likely to continue growth in years to come.
