Exports in the Middle East
After five years of growth, overseas shipments of fibreboard decreased by X% to X cubic meters in 2022. Over the period under review, exports, however, recorded a prominent expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 with an increase of X% against the previous year. The volume of export peaked at X cubic meters in 2021, and then reduced in the following year.
In value terms, fibreboard exports expanded sharply to $X in 2022. Overall, exports, however, posted a resilient increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports attained the maximum in 2022 and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
Exports by Country
Turkey prevails in exports structure, finishing at X cubic meters, which was approx. X% of total exports in 2022. It was distantly followed by the United Arab Emirates (X cubic meters), making up a X% share of total exports.
From 2012 to 2022, average annual rates of growth with regard to fibreboard exports from Turkey stood at X%. At the same time, the United Arab Emirates (X%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, the United Arab Emirates emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in the Middle East, with a CAGR of X% from 2012-2022. Imports in the Middle East
In 2022, purchases abroad of fibreboard decreased by X% to X cubic meters for the first time since 2018, thus ending a three-year rising trend. Over the period under review, imports showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2014 when imports increased by X%. Over the period under review, imports reached the peak figure at X cubic meters in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2022, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, fibreboard imports fell slightly to $X in 2022. Overall, imports showed a pronounced decrease. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 with an increase of X%. Over the period under review, imports reached the peak figure at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, imports remained at a lower figure.
Imports by Country
In 2022, Saudi Arabia (X cubic meters), distantly followed by the United Arab Emirates (X cubic meters), Iran (X cubic meters), Iraq (X cubic meters), Turkey (X cubic meters), Israel (X cubic meters) and Syrian Arab Republic (X cubic meters) were the major importers of fibreboard, together achieving X% of total imports.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the main importing countries, was attained by Iraq (with a CAGR of X%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, the largest fibreboard importing markets in the Middle East were Saudi Arabia ($X), the United Arab Emirates ($X) and Israel ($X), together accounting for X% of total imports. Iran, Iraq, Turkey and Syrian Arab Republic lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further X%.
Iraq, with a CAGR of X%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of imports, in terms of the main importing countries over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

The import price in the Middle East stood at $X per cubic meter in 2022, growing by X% against the previous year. In general, the import price, however, saw a mild decline. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 an increase of X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, import prices attained the peak figure at $X per cubic meter in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, import prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Israel ($X per cubic meter), while Syrian Arab Republic ($X per cubic meter) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Israel (X%), while the other leaders experienced mixed trends in the import price figures.
