Exports in the Middle East
In 2022, overseas shipments of cherries decreased by X% to X tons, falling for the second year in a row after three years of growth. Over the period under review, exports continue to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2015 with an increase of X%. The volume of export peaked at X tons in 2020; however, from 2021 to 2022, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, cherry exports declined sharply to $X in 2022. In general, exports saw a slight decrease. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2016 when exports increased by X% against the previous year. The level of export peaked at $X in 2020; however, from 2021 to 2022, the exports failed to regain momentum.
Exports by Country
Turkey dominates exports structure, recording X tons, which was near X% of total exports in 2022. It was distantly followed by Syrian Arab Republic (X tons), generating a X% share of total exports. Lebanon (X tons) took a little share of total exports.
