Beeswax Market Size in Mexico

The Mexican beeswax market declined to $X in 2020, with a decrease of -X% against the previous year. Overall, the total consumption indicated a mild expansion from 2007 to 2020: its value decreased at an average annual rate of -X% over the last thirteen years. Exports from Mexico

In 2020, overseas shipments of beeswax were finally on the rise to reach X tonnes for the first time since 2017, thus ending a two-year declining trend. Overall, exports, however, recorded a deep reduction. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2013 when exports increased by X% against the previous year. Exports peaked at X tonnes in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2020, exports failed to regain the momentum.

In value terms, beeswax exports surged to $X in 2020. Over the period under review, exports, however, continue to indicate a perceptible expansion. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2008 with an increase of X% y-o-y. Over the period under review, exports hit record highs at $X in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2020, exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Exports by Country

The Philippines (X tonnes) was the main destination for beeswax exports from Mexico, accounting for a X% share of total exports. Moreover, beeswax exports to the Philippines exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Guatemala (X kg), threefold. The third position in this ranking was occupied by Colombia (X kg), with a X% share.

From 2007 to 2020, the average annual growth rate of volume to the Philippines amounted to +X%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Guatemala (-X% per year) and Colombia (+X% per year).

In value terms, the Philippines ($X), Guatemala ($X) and Canada ($X) constituted the largest markets for beeswax exported from Mexico worldwide, together accounting for X% of total exports.

The Philippines recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, among the main countries of destination over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Export Prices by Country

The average beeswax export price stood at $X per tonne in 2020, waning by -X% against the previous year. In general, the export price, however, saw a buoyant expansion. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2008 when the average export price increased by X% against the previous year. The export price peaked at $X per tonne in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2020, export prices remained at a lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination; the country with the highest price was Canada ($X per tonne), while the average price for exports to France ($X per tonne) was amongst the lowest.

From 2007 to 2020, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Canada, while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports into Mexico

Beeswax imports into Mexico reduced markedly to X tonnes in 2020, dropping by -X% compared with 2019. Overall, imports, however, posted a notable expansion. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2013 when imports increased by X% year-to-year. As a result, imports attained the peak of X tonnes. From 2014 to 2020, the growth imports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, beeswax imports reduced remarkably to $X in 2020. In general, imports, however, showed a temperate expansion. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2008 with an increase of X% against the previous year. Imports peaked at $X in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2020, imports failed to regain the momentum.
