Brazil represented the key exporting country with an export of about X units, which reached 68% of total exports. Argentina (X units) held a 12% share (based on physical terms) of total exports, which put it in second place, followed by Paraguay (5.7%). The following exporters - Chile (X units), Colombia (X units), Peru (X units) and Ecuador (X units) - together made up 13% of total exports.

Brazil experienced a relatively flat trend pattern with regard to volume of exports of residential, commercial and industrial lighting fixture. At the same time, Ecuador (+14.8%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Ecuador emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in MERCOSUR, with a CAGR of +14.8% from 2012-2021. Peru experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. By contrast, Paraguay (-3.6%), Chile (-10.4%), Colombia (-11.6%) and Argentina (-17.0%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. Brazil (+29 p.p.) and Ecuador (+1.7 p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the total exports, while Chile, Colombia and Argentina saw its share reduced by -2.5%, -2.8% and -25.5% from 2012 to 2021, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, Brazil ($X) remains the largest residential, commercial and industrial lighting fixture supplier in MERCOSUR, comprising 51% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by Argentina ($X), with a 15% share of total exports. It was followed by Chile, with a 12% share.

In Brazil, exports of residential, commercial and industrial lighting fixture shrank by an average annual rate of -7.9% over the period from 2012-2021. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Argentina (-14.6% per year) and Chile (-7.5% per year).

In 2021, the export price in MERCOSUR amounted to $X per unit, waning by -1.9% against the previous year. In general, the export price recorded a pronounced descent. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2018 an increase of 13% against the previous year. Total imports indicated a resilient increase from 2012 to 2021: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +6.3% over the last nine years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. As a result, imports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

Chile, with a CAGR of +9.9%, saw the highest growth rate of the value of imports, among the main importing countries over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
