The total export value increased at an average annual rate of +3.6% over the period from 2012 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 with an increase of 10%. The level of export peaked at $X in 2021, and then shrank in the following year.
Exports by Country
In 2022, Ecuador (X tons), Colombia (X tons), Chile (X tons) and Peru (X tons) was the largest exporter of fruits in MERCOSUR, generating 83% of total export. Brazil (X tons) took the next position in the ranking, followed by Argentina (X tons). All these countries together took near 16% share of total exports.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the leading exporting countries, was attained by Peru (with a CAGR of +14.0%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, the largest fruit supplying countries in MERCOSUR were Peru ($X), Chile ($X) and Ecuador ($X), together comprising 75% of total exports.
Peru, with a CAGR of +16.6%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, in terms of the main exporting countries over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, the export price in MERCOSUR amounted to $X per ton, increasing by 5.6% against the previous year. Over the last decade, it increased at an average annual rate of +1.7%. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2014 an increase of 10% against the previous year. The level of export peaked in 2022 and is likely to see gradual growth in the near future.

In 2022, Brazil (X tons), Chile (X tons) and Argentina (X tons) was the key importer of fruits in MERCOSUR, committing 72% of total import. It was distantly followed by Colombia (X tons) and Paraguay (X tons), together mixing up a 15% share of total imports. The following importers - Peru (X tons) and Uruguay (X tons) - each recorded an 8.5% share of total imports.
From 2012 to 2022, the biggest increases were recorded for Chile (with a CAGR of +5.2%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 when the import price increased by 10%. The level of import peaked in 2022 and is expected to retain growth in the immediate term.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Colombia ($X per ton), while Paraguay ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
