As a result, the exports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

Brazil (X cubic meters) and Chile (X cubic meters) dominates exports structure, together making up 90% of total exports. Argentina (X cubic meters) held the next position in the ranking, followed by Uruguay (X cubic meters). All these countries together took approx. 9.3% share of total exports.

The export price in MERCOSUR stood at $X per cubic meter in 2021, picking up by 20% against the previous year. In general, the export price continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. Over the period under review, the export prices reached the maximum at $X per cubic meter in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2021, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2021, the country with the highest price was Chile ($X per cubic meter), while Uruguay ($X per cubic meter) was amongst the lowest.

In value terms, fibreboard imports soared to $X in 2021. Total imports indicated a mild increase from 2012 to 2021: its value increased at an average annual rate of +1.8% over the last nine years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. As a result, imports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

In 2021, Chile (X cubic meters), distantly followed by Peru (X cubic meters), Colombia (X cubic meters), Ecuador (X cubic meters) and Uruguay (X cubic meters) were the largest importers of fibreboard, together committing 88% of total imports. The following importers - Paraguay (X cubic meters) and Argentina (X cubic meters) - each accounted for an 8.3% share of total imports.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the key importing countries, was attained by Chile (with a CAGR of +14.9%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, Chile ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported fibreboard in MERCOSUR, comprising 46% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by Peru ($X), with a 17% share of total imports. It was followed by Colombia, with a 15% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value in Chile totaled +17.2%. The remaining importing countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Peru (+3.4% per year) and Colombia (-4.8% per year).
