In 2021, the United Arab Emirates (X tons) represented the main exporter of prepared or preserved crab meat, achieving 45% of total exports. Tunisia (X tons) took a 24% share (based on physical terms) of total exports, which put it in second place, followed by Bahrain (11%), Morocco (7%) and Lebanon (6.1%). Saudi Arabia (X tons) followed a long way behind the leaders.

While the share of Iraq (+8.3 p.p.), Qatar (+4.8 p.p.), the United Arab Emirates (+4.4 p.p.), Kuwait (+2 p.p.) and Turkey (+1.9 p.p.) increased significantly in terms of the total imports from 2012-2021, the share of Lebanon (-12.1 p.p.) displayed negative dynamics.

The second position in the ranking was held by Lebanon ($X), with a 23% share of total imports. It was followed by Qatar, with a 14% share.

From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of value in the United Arab Emirates stood at +12.4%. The remaining importing countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Lebanon (+1.9% per year) and Qatar (+70.3% per year).
