Roasted Coffee Exports

Exports from Malaysia

In 2022, approx. X tons of roasted coffee were exported from Malaysia; with an increase of X% on 2021 figures. Overall, exports enjoyed a significant increase. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2014 when exports increased by X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports attained the maximum at X tons in 2020; however, from 2021 to 2022, the exports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, roasted coffee exports skyrocketed to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, exports posted a significant increase. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2014 with an increase of X% against the previous year. The exports peaked at $X in 2020; however, from 2021 to 2022, the exports remained at a lower figure.

China (X tons) was the main destination for roasted coffee exports from Malaysia, with a X% share of total exports. Over the period under review, imports saw prominent growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2015 with an increase of X% against the previous year. Imports peaked in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in years to come.

In value terms, roasted coffee imports skyrocketed to $X in 2022. Overall, imports continue to indicate a strong expansion. As a result, imports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

In 2022, Indonesia (X tons) constituted the largest roasted coffee supplier to Malaysia, with a X% share of total imports. Moreover, roasted coffee imports from Indonesia exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, India (X tons), twofold. Singapore (X tons) ranked third in terms of total imports with an X% share.
