The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 when exports increased by 35%. The exports peaked in 2021 and are expected to retain growth in the near future.

In value terms, polycarboxylic acid exports soared to $X in 2021. In general, exports enjoyed a tangible increase. As a result, the exports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

Oman (X tons) was the main destination for polycarboxylic acid exports from Malaysia, accounting for a 33% share of total exports. Moreover, polycarboxylic acid exports to Oman exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, India (X tons), twofold. Turkey (X tons) ranked third in terms of total exports with a 12% share.

Overall, imports, however, continue to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2016 with an increase of 21% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of X tons. From 2017 to 2021, the growth of imports failed to regain momentum.
