Exports from Malaysia

In 2021, approx. X tons of concentrated grapefruit juice were exported from Malaysia; growing by 371% against 2020. Over the period under review, exports, however, showed a abrupt decline. The exports peaked at X tons in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2021, the exports remained at a lower figure.

Exports by Country

Mauritius (X tons), Singapore (X tons) and Brunei Darussalam (X tons) were the main destinations of concentrated grapefruit juice exports from Malaysia, with a combined 73% share of total exports. These countries were followed by Hong Kong SAR and Fiji, which together accounted for a further 25%.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the main countries of destination, was attained by Hong Kong SAR (with a CAGR of +201.4%), while the other leaders experienced a decline.

In value terms, concentrated grapefruit juice imports dropped significantly to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, imports, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2016 with an increase of 391%. As a result, imports reached the peak of $X. In 2021, Australia (X tons) constituted the largest supplier of concentrated grapefruit juice to Malaysia, with a 86% share of total imports. Moreover, concentrated grapefruit juice imports from Australia exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Italy (X tons), more than tenfold. Cyprus (X kg) ranked third in terms of total imports with a 4.9% share.
