Refrigerator And Freezer Market Size in Lithuania

In 2018, the amount of refrigerators and freezers exported from Lithuania totaled X tonnes, coming down by -X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, refrigerator and freezer exports continue to indicate a drastic curtailment. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2012 when exports increased by X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, refrigerator and freezer exports attained their maximum at X tonnes in 2007; however, from 2008 to 2018, exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, refrigerator and freezer exports stood at $X in 2018. In general, refrigerator and freezer exports continue to indicate a drastic drop. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2012 with an increase of X% year-to-year. Lithuania exports peaked at $X in 2007; however, from 2008 to 2018, exports remained at a lower figure.

Exports by Country

In 2018, China (X tonnes) was the major exporter of refrigerators and freezers, achieving X% of total exports. It was distantly followed by Mexico (X tonnes), Thailand (X tonnes), Turkey (X tonnes) and South Korea (X tonnes), together creating a X% share of total exports. Poland (X tonnes), Germany (X tonnes), Italy (X tonnes), Romania (X tonnes) and Hungary (X tonnes) held a relatively small share of total exports.

China was also the fastest-growing in terms of the refrigerators and freezers exports, with a CAGR of +X% from 2007 to 2018. At the same time, Romania (+X%), Mexico (+X%), Thailand (+X%), Poland (+X%) and Turkey (+X%) displayed positive paces of growth. By contrast, Germany (-X%), South Korea (-X%), Hungary (-X%) and Italy (-X%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. While the share of China (+X p.p.), Mexico (+X p.p.), Thailand (+X p.p.), Turkey (+X p.p.) and Poland (+X p.p.) increased significantly in terms of the global exports from 2007-2018, the share of Italy (-X p.p.) displayed negative dynamics. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, the largest refrigerator and freezer markets from Lithuania were China ($X), Mexico ($X) and Thailand ($X), together comprising X% of total exports.

Among the main exporting countries, Mexico recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to exports, over the last eleven years, while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2018, the refrigerator and freezer export price in Lithuania amounted to $X per tonne, surging by X% against the previous year. In general, the refrigerator and freezer export price continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2008 when the export price increased by X% y-o-y. Lithuania export price peaked at $X per tonne in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2018, export prices failed to regain their momentum.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2018, the country with the highest price was Germany ($X per tonne), while China ($X per tonne) was amongst the lowest.

The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2010 when imports increased by X% against the previous year. Lithuania imports peaked at X tonnes in 2007; however, from 2008 to 2018, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

The U.S. represented the largest importing country with an import of about X tonnes, which resulted at X% of total imports. It was distantly followed by the UK (X tonnes) and France (X tonnes), together mixing up a X% share of total imports. Germany (X tonnes), Japan (X tonnes), Italy (X tonnes), Australia (X tonnes), Russia (X tonnes), Spain (X tonnes), Canada (X tonnes), Sweden (X tonnes) and the Netherlands (X tonnes) held a little share of total imports.

From 2007 to 2018, average annual rates of growth with regard to refrigerator and freezer imports into the U.S. stood at +X%. At the same time, Australia (+X%), Germany (+X%), Sweden (+X%), the UK (+X%), Japan (+X%) and Italy (+X%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Australia emerged as the fastest-growing importer in the world, with a CAGR of +X% from 2007-2018. France, Russia and Spain experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. By contrast, the Netherlands (-X%) and Canada (-X%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. The U.S. (+X p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the global imports, while the shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
