Exports from Latvia

In 2022, overseas shipments of carrots and turnips decreased by X% to X tons, falling for the second year in a row after four years of growth. Overall, exports, however, saw strong growth. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2015 with an increase of X%. Over the period under review, the exports hit record highs at X tons in 2020; however, from 2021 to 2022, the exports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, carrot and turnip exports contracted significantly to $X in 2022. In general, exports, however, posted a perceptible increase. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2017 when exports increased by X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports attained the maximum at $X in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, the exports remained at a lower figure.

Estonia (X tons) was the main destination for carrot and turnip exports from Latvia, accounting for a X% share of total exports. Moreover, carrot and turnip exports to Estonia exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Lithuania (X tons), threefold.
