Exports in Latin America and the Caribbean

In 2022, shipments abroad of non-mineral or non-aerated waters increased by X% to X litres, rising for the second year in a row after three years of decline. Over the period under review, exports recorded a buoyant expansion. As a result, the exports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

In value terms, non-mineral or non-aerated water exports reduced modestly to $X in 2022. The total export value increased at an average annual rate of X% from 2012 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of X% against the previous year. As a result, the exports reached the peak of $X, and then declined modestly in the following year.

Exports by Country

In 2022, Jamaica (X litres) was the main exporter of non-mineral or non-aerated waters, constituting X% of total exports. It was distantly followed by Trinidad and Tobago (X litres), Guatemala (X litres), Mexico (X litres) and El Salvador (X litres), together making up a X% share of total exports. The following exporters - Peru (X litres) and Nicaragua (X litres) - together made up X% of total exports.

Jamaica was also the fastest-growing in terms of the non-mineral or non-aerated waters exports, with a CAGR of X% from 2012 to 2022. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 an increase of X% against the previous year. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $X per litre. From 2021 to 2022, the export prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Guatemala ($X per litre), while Jamaica (less than $X per litre) was amongst the lowest.
