Exports in Latin America and the Caribbean

In 2022, after two years of decline, there was significant growth in overseas shipments of steering wheels, steering columns and steering boxes, when their volume increased by 28% to X tons. Total exports indicated a prominent increase from 2012 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +5.9% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. As a result, the exports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

In value terms, steering wheels and columns exports expanded notably to $X in 2022. Total exports indicated a buoyant increase from 2012 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +5.8% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, exports increased by +26.8% against 2020 indices. As a result, the exports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

In 2022, purchases abroad of steering wheels, steering columns and steering boxes increased by 4.3% to X tons, rising for the second year in a row after two years of decline. The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +3.2% over the period from 2012 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 when imports increased by 25% against the previous year.
