Aircraft Propeller Exports

Exports in Latin America and the Caribbean

In 2022, after two years of decline, there was growth in shipments abroad of propellers and rotors for civil non-powered aircraft, helicopters and aeroplanes, when their volume increased by X% to X tons. Over the period under review, exports, however, showed a deep reduction. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2015 with an increase of X%. The volume of export peaked at X tons in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the exports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, aircraft propeller exports reduced dramatically to $X in 2022. In general, exports, however, recorded a deep slump. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2015 when exports increased by X% against the previous year. As a result, the exports attained the peak of $X. From 2016 to 2022, the growth of the exports remained at a lower figure.

Exports by Country

In 2022, Suriname (X tons) was the major exporter of propellers and rotors for civil non-powered aircraft, helicopters and aeroplanes, creating X% of total exports. It was distantly followed by Jamaica (X tons), Colombia (X tons), Peru (X tons), Trinidad and Tobago (X tons) and Brazil (X tons), together creating a X% share of total exports. Guatemala (X tons), Chile (X tons), the Dominican Republic (X tons), Ecuador (X tons), Barbados (X tons), Costa Rica (X tons) and Mexico (X tons) held a relatively small share of total exports.

Suriname was also the fastest-growing in terms of the propellers and rotors for civil non-powered aircraft, helicopters and aeroplanes exports, with a CAGR of X% from 2012 to 2022. At the same time, Colombia (X%) and the Dominican Republic (X%) displayed positive paces of growth. Barbados experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. By contrast, Chile (X%), Costa Rica (X%), Ecuador (X%), Jamaica (X%), Trinidad and Tobago (X%), Guatemala (X%), Peru (X%), Brazil (X%) and Mexico (X%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. From 2012 to 2022, the share of Suriname, Colombia, the Dominican Republic, Chile and Barbados increased by X, X, X, X and X percentage points, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, Brazil ($X) remains the largest aircraft propeller supplier in Latin America and the Caribbean, comprising X% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by Peru ($X), with an X% share of total exports. It was followed by Jamaica, with a X% share.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value in Brazil stood at X%. The remaining exporting countries recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Peru (X% per year) and Jamaica (X% per year).

Export Prices by Country

In 2022, the export price in Latin America and the Caribbean amounted to $X per ton, with a decrease of X% against the previous year. Overall, the export price, however, posted slight growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 when the export price increased by X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export prices attained the peak figure at $X per ton in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, the export prices remained at a lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Brazil ($X,435 per ton), while Suriname ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Ecuador (X%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports in Latin America and the Caribbean

Aircraft propeller imports contracted remarkably to X tons in 2022, with a decrease of X% on the year before. Overall, imports recorded a abrupt setback. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when imports increased by X% against the previous year. The volume of import peaked at X tons in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, aircraft propeller imports dropped notably to $X in 2022. In general, imports continue to indicate a abrupt slump. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when imports increased by X%. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, imports remained at a lower figure.

Imports by Country

In 2022, Colombia (X tons), distantly followed by Brazil (X tons), Peru (X tons), Bahamas (X tons), Guatemala (X tons), Argentina (X tons), Panama (X tons), Mexico (X tons), Guyana (X tons) and Venezuela (X tons) were the major importers of propellers and rotors for civil non-powered aircraft, helicopters and aeroplanes, together mixing up X% of total imports. The following importers - Ecuador (X tons), Chile (X tons) and Suriname (X tons) - together made up X% of total imports.

From 2012 to 2022, average annual rates of growth with regard to aircraft propeller imports into Colombia stood at X%. At the same time, Suriname (X%), Panama (X%), Argentina (X%), Guyana (X%) and Guatemala (X%) displayed positive paces of growth.
