As a result, the exports reached the peak of X tons. From 2015 to 2021, the growth of the exports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, polyethylene glycol and polyether exports skyrocketed to $X in 2021. Overall, exports continue to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. Over the period under review, the exports hit record highs at $X in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

The shipments of the three major exporters of polyethylene glycols and polyethers in primary forms, namely Colombia, Mexico and Brazil, represented more than two-thirds of total export. The following exporters - Panama (X tons) and Argentina (X tons) - each accounted for a 4.6% share of total exports.

From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were recorded for Colombia (with a CAGR of +14.0%), while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, the largest polyethylene glycol and polyether supplying countries in Latin America and the Caribbean were Colombia ($X), Mexico ($X) and Brazil ($X), together comprising 91% of total exports.

Among the main exporting countries, Colombia, with a CAGR of +16.5%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of exports, over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2021, the export price in Latin America and the Caribbean amounted to $X per ton, picking up by 43% against the previous year. Over the last nine years, it increased at an average annual rate of +2.4%. As a result, the export price attained the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Panama ($X per ton), while Argentina ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

After three years of decline, purchases abroad of polyethylene glycols and polyethers in primary forms increased by 42% to X tons in 2021. The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +3.8% over the period from 2012 to 2021; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. As a result, imports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

In value terms, polyethylene glycol and polyether imports surged to $X in 2021. Total imports indicated prominent growth from 2012 to 2021: its value increased at an average annual rate of +5.8% over the last nine years. Over the last nine years, it increased at an average annual rate of +1.9%. As a result, import price reached the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

Average prices varied somewhat amongst the major importing countries. In 2021, major importing countries recorded the following prices: in Argentina ($X per ton) and Brazil ($X per ton), while Colombia ($X per ton) and Chile ($X per ton) were amongst the lowest.
