In 2022, shipments abroad of phosphorus, arsenic and selenium decreased by X% to X tons, falling for the second consecutive year after two years of growth. In general, exports saw a deep contraction. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2017 with an increase of X% against the previous year. The volume of export peaked at X tons in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, phosphorus, arsenic and selenium exports fell markedly to $X in 2022. Overall, exports saw a abrupt downturn. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2017 with an increase of X%. The level of export peaked at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Exports by Country

Chile represented the major exporter of phosphorus, arsenic and selenium in Latin America and the Caribbean, with the volume of exports amounting to X tons, which was approx. X% of total exports in 2022. Peru (X tons) took a X% share (based on physical terms) of total exports, which put it in second place, followed by Guatemala (X%), Mexico (X%) and Colombia (X%). Brazil (X tons) and Panama (X tons) followed a long way behind the leaders.

Exports from Chile increased at an average annual rate of X% from 2012 to 2022. At the same time, Brazil (X%), Colombia (X%), Panama (X%) and Peru (X%) displayed positive paces of growth. In value terms, Chile ($X) emerged as the largest phosphorus, arsenic and selenium supplier in Latin America and the Caribbean, comprising X% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by Peru ($X), with a X% share of total exports. It was followed by Guatemala, with a X% share.

In Chile, phosphorus, arsenic and selenium exports declined by an average annual rate of X% over the period from 2012-2022. The remaining exporting countries recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Peru (X% per year) and Guatemala (X% per year).

In 2022, the export price in Latin America and the Caribbean amounted to $X per ton, with an increase of X% against the previous year. Overall, the export price, however, faced a deep contraction.
