Canned Mushroom Market Size in Latin America and the Caribbean

The Latin American canned mushroom market expanded sharply to $X in 2020, increasing by X% against the previous year. In 2020, canned mushroom exports in Latin America and the Caribbean rose modestly to X tonnes, surging by X% on 2019. In general, exports, however, continue to indicate a mild contraction. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2010 with an increase of X% y-o-y. Over the period under review, exports reached the peak figure at X tonnes in 2011; however, from 2012 to 2020, exports failed to regain the momentum.

In value terms, canned mushroom exports reached $X in 2020. Overall, exports, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2008 when exports increased by X% y-o-y. As a result, exports reached the peak of $X. from 2009 to 2020, the growth exports failed to regain the momentum.

Exports by Country

Chile was the main exporting country with an export of around X tonnes, which finished at X% of total exports. Mexico (X tonnes) ranks second in terms of the total exports with a X% share, followed by Costa Rica (X%), Guatemala (X%) and Colombia (X%). Brazil (X tonnes) and El Salvador (X tonnes) occupied a relatively small share of total exports.

From 2007 to 2020, the biggest increases were in Costa Rica, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, Chile ($X) remains the largest canned mushroom supplier in Latin America and the Caribbean, comprising X% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was occupied by Mexico ($X), with a X% share of total exports. It was followed by Costa Rica, with a X% share.

From 2007 to 2020, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value in Chile was relatively modest. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Mexico (+X% per year) and Costa Rica (+X% per year).

In 2020, the canned mushroom export price in Latin America and the Caribbean amounted to $X per tonne, shrinking by -X% against the previous year. Export price indicated modest growth from 2007 to 2020: its price increased at an average annual rate of +X% over the last thirteen years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2020 figures, canned mushroom export price increased by +X% against 2013 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2008 an increase of X% y-o-y.
