Exports in Latin America and the Caribbean

In 2022, shipments abroad of mixes and doughs decreased by X% to X tons for the first time since 2018, thus ending a three-year rising trend. Over the period under review, exports, however, recorded a prominent expansion. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2013 when exports increased by X% against the previous year. As a result, the exports reached the peak of X tons. From 2014 to 2022, the growth of the exports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, mixes and doughs exports rose significantly to $X in 2022. In general, exports, however, enjoyed a strong increase. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2013 when exports increased by X%. The level of export peaked in 2022 and is expected to retain growth in years to come.

In 2022, Brazil (X tons) was the major exporter of mixes and doughs, constituting X% of total exports. Argentina (X tons) took a X% share (based on physical terms) of total exports, which put it in second place, followed by Mexico (X%) and Paraguay (X%). The following exporters - Guatemala (X tons), Uruguay (X tons) and Costa Rica (X tons) - together made up X% of total exports.

Brazil was also the fastest-growing in terms of the mixes and doughs exports, with a CAGR of X% from 2012 to 2022.
