Glucose Exports

Exports in Latin America and the Caribbean

In 2022, the amount of glucose and glucose syrup exported in Latin America and the Caribbean reduced to X tons, waning by X% compared with 2021. Overall, exports saw a noticeable contraction. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2019 when exports increased by X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports reached the peak figure at X tons in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the exports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, glucose exports reached $X in 2022. Over the period under review, exports showed a perceptible decrease. From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the main exporting countries, was attained by Brazil (with a CAGR of X%), while the other leaders experienced mixed trends in the exports figures.

In general, imports continue to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 when imports increased by X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in the immediate term.

In value terms, glucose imports surged to $X in 2022. Total imports indicated a noticeable increase from 2012 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of X% over the last decade.
