Production By Country in Latin America and the Caribbean

Mexico (X units) remains the largest fork-lift truck producing country in Latin America and the Caribbean, comprising approx. X% of total volume. Moreover, fork-lift truck production in Mexico exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest producer, Puerto Rico (X units), more than tenfold.

From 2007 to 2020, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume in Mexico was relatively modest.

In 2020, shipments abroad of fork-lift trucks decreased by -X% to X units, falling for the second year in a row after three years of growth. Overall, exports, however, continue to indicate a prominent expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 with an increase of X% y-o-y. As a result, exports attained the peak of X units. from 2015 to 2020, the growth exports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, fork-lift truck exports declined rapidly to $X in 2020. Over the period under review, exports, however, saw prominent growth. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2016 with an increase of X% against the previous year. The level of export peaked at $X in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2020, exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Exports by Country

In 2020, Mexico (X units) represented the main exporter of fork-lift trucks, achieving X% of total exports. It was distantly followed by Brazil (X units), constituting a X% share of total exports. The following exporters - Bahamas (X units), Argentina (X units), Bolivia (X units), Chile (X units) and the Dominican Republic (X units) - together made up X% of total exports.

From 2007 to 2020, average annual rates of growth with regard to fork-lift truck exports from Mexico stood at +X%. At the same time, Bolivia (+X%), Chile (+X%), Bahamas (+X%), Argentina (+X%), the Dominican Republic (+X%) and Brazil (+X%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Bolivia emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in Latin America and the Caribbean, with a CAGR of +X% from 2007-2020. While the share of Mexico (+X p.p.) and Bolivia (+X p.p.) increased significantly in terms of the total exports from 2007-2020, the share of Brazil (-X p.p.) displayed negative dynamics. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

From 2007 to 2020, the average annual growth rate of value in Mexico amounted to +X%. The remaining exporting countries recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Brazil (+X% per year) and Chile (+X% per year).

Export Prices by Country

The fork-lift truck export price in Latin America and the Caribbean stood at $X per unit in 2020, reducing by -X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price, however, showed a resilient increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2015 when the export price increased by X% year-to-year. The level of export peaked at $X per unit in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2020, export prices remained at a lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin; the country with the highest price was Chile ($X per unit), while Bolivia ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

From 2007 to 2020, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Brazil, while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports in Latin America and the Caribbean

In 2020, fork-lift truck imports in Latin America and the Caribbean reached X units, growing by X% on the previous year. In general, imports showed a prominent expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2010 with an increase of X% year-to-year. The volume of import peaked at X units in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2020, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, fork-lift truck imports dropped significantly to $X in 2020. Over the period under review, imports showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2011 when imports increased by X% y-o-y. The level of import peaked at $X in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2020, imports remained at a lower figure.

Imports by Country

Paraguay prevails in fork-lift truck imports structure, amounting to X units, which was approx. X% of total imports in 2020. It was distantly followed by El Salvador (X units), constituting an X% share of total imports. The following importers - Brazil (X units), Mexico (X units) and the Dominican Republic (X units) - each accounted for a X% share of total imports.

From 2007 to 2020, average annual rates of growth with regard to fork-lift truck imports into Paraguay stood at +X%. At the same time, the Dominican Republic (+X%), El Salvador (+X%), Brazil (+X%) and Mexico (+X%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, the Dominican Republic emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in Latin America and the Caribbean, with a CAGR of +X% from 2007-2020. El Salvador (+X p.p.) and the Dominican Republic (+X p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the total imports, while Mexico saw its share reduced by -X% from 2007 to 2020, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
