Exports in Latin America and the Caribbean
In 2023, after two years of growth, there was significant decline in shipments abroad of fireclay, when their volume decreased by X% to X tons. In general, exports, however, continue to indicate a strong increase. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2022 when exports increased by X% against the previous year. As a result, the exports attained the peak of X tons, and then fell dramatically in the following year.
In value terms, fireclay exports shrank remarkably to $X in 2023. Overall, exports, however, recorded a temperate increase. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2022 with an increase of X% against the previous year. As a result, the exports attained the peak of $X, and then dropped sharply in the following year.
Exports by Country
Brazil prevails in exports structure, resulting at X tons, which was near X% of total exports in 2023. Mexico (X tons) followed a long way behind the leaders.
Brazil was also the fastest-growing in terms of the fireclay exports, with a CAGR of X% from 2012 to 2023. Mexico (X%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. From 2012 to 2023, the share of Brazil increased by X percentage points.
In value terms, Brazil ($X) remains the largest fireclay supplier in Latin America and the Caribbean, comprising X% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by Mexico ($X), with a X% share of total exports.

Chile (X tons) held the second position in the ranking, followed by Brazil (X tons), Argentina (X tons) and Colombia (X tons). All these countries together held near X% share of total imports.
From 2012 to 2023, average annual rates of growth with regard to fireclay imports into Mexico stood at X%. At the same time, Colombia (X%) and Argentina (X%) displayed positive paces of growth. There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2023, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Brazil ($X per ton), while Mexico ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Brazil (X%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
