In 2022, the average yield of eggplants (aubergines) in Latin America and the Caribbean fell to X tons per ha, with a decrease of X% on the previous year. The yield figure increased at an average annual rate of X% from 2012 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. Eggplant Exports

Exports in Latin America and the Caribbean

In 2022, the amount of eggplants (aubergines) exported in Latin America and the Caribbean declined to X tons, dropping by X% compared with 2021 figures. Total exports indicated a pronounced expansion from 2012 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of X% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, exports increased by X% against 2017 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of X% against the previous year. As a result, the exports reached the peak of X tons, and then dropped in the following year.

In value terms, eggplant exports reached $X in 2022. Total exports indicated a measured increase from 2012 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of X% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, exports increased by X% against 2018 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2019 when exports increased by X% against the previous year. Exports by Country

In 2022, Mexico (X tons) represented the major exporter of eggplants (aubergines), comprising X% of total exports. It was distantly followed by Honduras (X tons), creating a X% share of total exports. The Dominican Republic (X tons) followed a long way behind the leaders.

In 2022, eggplant imports in Latin America and the Caribbean skyrocketed to X tons, increasing by X% compared with 2021. In general, imports posted a buoyant increase. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2014 with an increase of X%. As a result, imports reached the peak of X tons. From 2015 to 2022, the growth of imports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, eggplant imports skyrocketed to $X in 2022. Overall, imports posted buoyant growth. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2014 when imports increased by X%. Imports by Country
