Crane Lorry Market Size in Latin America and the Caribbean

For the third year in a row, the Latin American crane lorry market recorded growth in sales value, which increased by X% to $X in 2020. The total consumption indicated a temperate increase from 2007 to 2020: its value increased at an average annual rate of +X% over the last thirteen-year period. The total production indicated a measured expansion from 2007 to 2020: its value increased at an average annual rate of +X% over the last thirteen-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2020 figures, production increased by +X% against 2015 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 with an increase of X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, production hit record highs at $X in 2019, and then declined modestly in the following year.

Production By Country in Latin America and the Caribbean

The country with the largest volume of crane lorry production was Mexico (X units), accounting for X% of total volume. Moreover, crane lorry production in Mexico exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest producer, Ecuador (X units), eightfold. The Dominican Republic (X units) ranked third in terms of total production with a X% share.

In Mexico, crane lorry production expanded at an average annual rate of +X% over the period from 2007-2020. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Ecuador (+X% per year) and the Dominican Republic (+X% per year).

Crane Lorry Exports

Exports in Latin America and the Caribbean

Crane lorry exports contracted significantly to X units in 2020, waning by -X% against the year before. Over the period under review, exports recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2010 when exports increased by X% year-to-year. The volume of export peaked at X units in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2020, exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, crane lorry exports reduced notably to $X in 2020. In general, exports continue to indicate a tangible expansion. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2010 with an increase of X% y-o-y. Over the period under review, exports hit record highs at $X in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2020, exports failed to regain the momentum.

Exports by Country

Mexico represented the main exporter of crane lorries in Latin America and the Caribbean, with the volume of exports amounting to X units, which was approx. X% of total exports in 2020. Chile (X units) held an X% share (based on tonnes) of total exports, which put it in second place, followed by Peru (X%), Brazil (X%) and the Dominican Republic (X%). Colombia (X units) and Costa Rica (X units) occupied a minor share of total exports.

From 2007 to 2020, average annual rates of growth with regard to crane lorry exports from Mexico stood at +X%. At the same time, Peru (+X%), the Dominican Republic (+X%) and Costa Rica (+X%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Peru emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in Latin America and the Caribbean, with a CAGR of +X% from 2007-2020. By contrast, Colombia (-X%), Chile (-X%) and Brazil (-X%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. While the share of Mexico (+X p.p.), Peru (+X p.p.), the Dominican Republic (+X p.p.) and Costa Rica (+X p.p.) increased significantly in terms of the total exports from 2007-2020, the share of Colombia (-X p.p.), Chile (-X p.p.) and Brazil (-X p.p.) displayed negative dynamics.

In value terms, Mexico ($X) emerged as the largest crane lorry supplier in Latin America and the Caribbean, comprising X% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was occupied by Chile ($X), with a X% share of total exports. It was followed by Brazil, with a X% share.

From 2007 to 2020, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value in Mexico amounted to +X%. The remaining exporting countries recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Chile (+X% per year) and Brazil (-X% per year).

Export Prices by Country

The crane lorry export price in Latin America and the Caribbean stood at $X per unit in 2020, with a decrease of -X% against the previous year. Overall, the export price, however, posted a notable expansion. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2014 when the export price increased by X% year-to-year. Over the period under review, export prices hit record highs at $X per unit in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2020, export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2020, the country with the highest price was Colombia ($X per unit), while Costa Rica ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

From 2007 to 2020, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Chile, while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports in Latin America and the Caribbean

In 2020, approx. X units of crane lorries were imported in Latin America and the Caribbean; with a decrease of -X% against 2019. Overall, imports saw a noticeable descent. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2010 with an increase of X% year-to-year. Over the period under review, imports reached the peak figure at X units in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2020, imports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, crane lorry imports shrank significantly to $X in 2020. Over the period under review, imports showed a mild shrinkage. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2008 when imports increased by X% year-to-year. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2020, imports remained at a lower figure.

In 2020, Mexico (X units) represented the major importer of crane lorries, creating X% of total imports. The crane lorry import price in Latin America and the Caribbean stood at $X per unit in 2020, reducing by -X% against the previous year. Over the last thirteen-year period, it increased at an average annual rate of +X%. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2008 an increase of X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, import prices reached the peak figure at $X per unit in 2019, and then reduced remarkably in the following year.
