Exports in Latin America and the Caribbean
In 2022, shipments abroad of coffee (green) decreased by X% to X tons, falling for the third consecutive year after three years of growth. The total export volume increased at an average annual rate of X% over the period from 2012 to 2022; the trend pattern remained relatively stable, with only minor fluctuations being recorded in certain years. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2019 when exports increased by X%. As a result, the exports attained the peak of X tons. From 2020 to 2022, the growth of the exports failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, green coffee exports soared to $X in 2022. Total exports indicated a tangible increase from 2012 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of X% over the last decade. Exports by Country
Brazil was the main exporter of coffee (green) in Latin America and the Caribbean, with the volume of exports reaching X tons, which was near X% of total exports in 2022. Colombia (X tons) held the second position in the ranking, distantly followed by Honduras (X tons), Peru (X tons) and Guatemala (X tons). All these countries together held near X% share of total exports. Nicaragua (X tons) and Mexico (X tons) took a minor share of total exports.
Exports from Brazil increased at an average annual rate of X% from 2012 to 2022. At the same time, Colombia (X%), Nicaragua (X%) and Honduras (X%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Colombia emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in Latin America and the Caribbean, with a CAGR of X% from 2012-2022. By contrast, Peru (X%), Guatemala (X%) and Mexico (X%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period.
