El Salvador represented the key importer of chilies and peppers (green) in Latin America and the Caribbean, with the volume of imports finishing at X tons, which was approx. X% of total imports in 2022. Paraguay (X tons) took an X% share (based on physical terms) of total imports, which put it in second place, followed by Mexico (X%) and Bahamas (X%). The following importers - Aruba (X tons), Trinidad and Tobago (X tons) and Haiti (X tons) - each accounted for a X% share of total imports.
El Salvador experienced a relatively flat trend pattern with regard to volume of imports of chilies and peppers (green). At the same time, Bahamas (X%), Paraguay (X%), Aruba (X%) and Trinidad and Tobago (X%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Bahamas emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in Latin America and the Caribbean, with a CAGR of X% from 2012-2022. By contrast, Haiti (X%) and Mexico (X%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. From 2012 to 2022, the share of Paraguay and Bahamas increased by X and X percentage points, respectively.
