Exports in Latin America and the Caribbean
In 2022, the amount of chewing gum exported in Latin America and the Caribbean expanded slightly to X tons, picking up by X% on the previous year. In general, exports, however, saw a abrupt curtailment. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2019 with an increase of X% against the previous year. The volume of export peaked at X tons in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the exports failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, chewing gum exports soared to $X in 2022. Overall, exports, however, showed a deep reduction. The level of export peaked at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the exports remained at a lower figure.
Exports by Country
Mexico (X tons) and Brazil (X tons) were the largest exporters of chewing gum in 2022, accounting for near X% and X% of total exports, respectively. Ecuador (X tons) ranks next in terms of the total exports with a X% share, followed by Guatemala (X%) and Colombia (X%). Chile (X tons) held a little share of total exports.
From 2012 to 2022, the biggest increases were recorded for Guatemala (with a CAGR of X%), while shipments for the other leaders experienced a decline in the exports figures.
In value terms, Mexico ($X) remains the largest chewing gum supplier in Latin America and the Caribbean, comprising X% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by Brazil ($X), with a X% share of total exports. It was followed by Ecuador, with a X% share.
