Over the period under review, exports posted a buoyant increase. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 when exports increased by X%. The volume of export peaked in 2022 and is expected to retain growth in the near future.
In value terms, smart card exports skyrocketed to $X in 2022. The total export value increased at an average annual rate of X% from 2012 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. As a result, the exports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
Exports by Country
Brazil was the key exporter of cards incorporating an electronic integrated circuit (smart card) in Latin America and the Caribbean, with the volume of exports recording X units, which was near X% of total exports in 2022. Colombia (X units) ranks second in terms of the total exports with a X% share, followed by Mexico (X%).
