Camel Meat Exports
Exports in Latin America and the Caribbean
In 2022, after four years of decline, there was significant growth in overseas shipments of camel meat, when their volume increased by X% to X kg. Overall, exports, however, faced a dramatic decrease. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2017 with an increase of X%. As a result, the exports reached the peak of X tons. From 2018 to 2022, the growth of the exports failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, camel meat exports surged to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, exports, however, saw a dramatic slump. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2017 when exports increased by X%. As a result, the exports attained the peak of $X. From 2018 to 2022, the growth of the exports remained at a lower figure.
Exports by Country
In 2022, Argentina (X kg) was the key exporter of camel meat in Latin America and the Caribbean, mixing up X% of total export.
Argentina was also the fastest-growing in terms of the camel meat exports, with a CAGR of X% from 2012 to 2022. While the share of Argentina (X p.p.) increased significantly, the shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
In value terms, Argentina ($X) also remains the largest camel meat supplier in Latin America and the Caribbean.

Camel meat imports fell sharply to X tons in 2020, declining by X% compared with the previous year's figure. Overall, imports, however, continue to indicate a significant expansion. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2014 with an increase of X%. The volume of import peaked at X tons in 2019, and then dropped significantly in the following year.
In value terms, camel meat imports dropped markedly to $X in 2020. Over the period under review, imports, however, showed a significant expansion. The purchases of the one major importers of camel meat, namely Saint Maarten (Dutch part), represented more than two-thirds of total import.
