Blow Lamp Exports

Exports in Latin America and the Caribbean

In 2022, overseas shipments of blow lamps were finally on the rise to reach X tons after four years of decline. In general, exports, however, continue to indicate a sharp slump. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2017 when exports increased by X%. The volume of export peaked at X tons in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the exports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, blow lamp exports skyrocketed to $X in 2022. Overall, exports, however, showed a precipitous decrease. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2017 with an increase of X%. The level of export peaked at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the exports failed to regain momentum.

Exports by Country

The Dominican Republic was the major exporter of blow lamps in Latin America and the Caribbean, with the volume of exports recording X tons, which was approx. X% of total exports in 2022. Brazil (X kg) ranks second in terms of the total exports with an X% share, followed by Costa Rica (X%) and Uruguay (X%). The following exporters - Guatemala (X kg), Colombia (X kg) and Mexico (X kg) - together made up X% of total exports.

The Dominican Republic was also the fastest-growing in terms of the blow lamps exports, with a CAGR of X% from 2012 to 2022. At the same time, Uruguay (X%) and Brazil (X%) displayed positive paces of growth. By contrast, Costa Rica (X%), Guatemala (X%), Colombia (X%) and Mexico (X%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. From 2012 to 2022, the share of the Dominican Republic, Brazil, Costa Rica, Uruguay, Guatemala and Colombia increased by X, X, X, X, X and X percentage points, while the shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

Export Prices by Country

The export price in Latin America and the Caribbean stood at $X per ton in 2022, reducing by X% against the previous year. In general, the export price, however, saw a remarkable increase. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2013 when the export price increased by X% against the previous year. The level of export peaked at $X per ton in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2022, the export prices failed to regain momentum.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Guatemala ($X per ton), while the Dominican Republic ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Guatemala (X%), while the other leaders experienced a decline in the export price figures.

Blow Lamp Imports

Imports in Latin America and the Caribbean

In 2022, after two years of growth, there was significant decline in supplies from abroad of blow lamps, when their volume decreased by X% to X tons. Over the period under review, imports, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of X% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of X tons, and then reduced notably in the following year.

In value terms, blow lamp imports contracted remarkably to $X in 2022. In general, imports continue to indicate a mild decline. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of X% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of $X, and then reduced markedly in the following year.

Imports by Country

In 2022, Chile (X tons) was the largest importer of blow lamps, comprising X% of total imports. Ecuador (X tons) held a X% share (based on physical terms) of total imports, which put it in second place, followed by Colombia (X%), Argentina (X%) and Bolivia (X%). Brazil (X tons), Bahamas (X tons), El Salvador (X tons), Mexico (X tons), Peru (X tons) and Guatemala (X tons) followed a long way behind the leaders.
