Moreover, Mexico emerged as the fastest growing exporter in Latin America and the Caribbean, with a CAGR of +X% from 2007-2017. By contrast, Argentina (-X%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. While the share of Argentina (X%) increased significantly in terms of the global exports from 2007-2017, the share of Nicaragua (-X%), Uruguay (-X%), Mexico (-X%), Brazil (-X%) and Paraguay (-X%) displayed negative dynamics.

In value terms, Brazil ($X) remains the largest beef supplier in Latin America and the Caribbean, making up X% of global exports. The second position in the ranking was occupied by Uruguay ($X), with a X% share of global exports. It was followed by Argentina, with a X% share.

In Brazil, beef exports increased at an average annual rate of +X% over the period from 2007-2017. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Uruguay (+X% per year) and Argentina (+X% per year).

In 2017, the beef export price in Latin America and the Caribbean amounted to $X per ton, growing by X% against the previous year. In that year, the beef imports attained their peak volume of X tons. From 2011 to 2017, growth of the beef imports failed to regain its momentum.

In value terms, beef imports amounted to $X in 2017. The total import value increased an average annual rate of +X% over the period from 2007 to 2017; the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations in certain years. Over the period under review, the beef imports reached its maximum level of $X in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2017, it failed to regain its momentum.

It was distantly followed by Brazil (X tons), creating X% share of total imports. El Salvador (X tons), the Dominican Republic (X tons), Guatemala (X tons), Bahamas (X tons), Aruba (X tons) and Panama (X tons) followed a long way behind the leaders.

In value terms, the largest beef markets worldwide were Chile ($X), Mexico ($X) and Brazil ($X), with a combined X% share of total imports. El Salvador, the Dominican Republic, Guatemala, Bahamas, Panama and Aruba lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further X%.

Among the main importing countries , Panama (+X% per year) experienced the highest rates of growth with regard to imports, over the last decade, while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
