The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2015 when exports increased by X% against the previous year. As a result, the exports reached the peak of X tons. From 2016 to 2022, the growth of the exports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

Argentina represented the largest importer of bauxite in Latin America and the Caribbean, with the volume of imports reaching X tons, which was near X% of total imports in 2022. It was distantly followed by British Virgin Islands (X tons), Peru (X tons), Ecuador (X tons), Mexico (X tons), Colombia (X tons) and Uruguay (X tons), together achieving a X% share of total imports.

From 2012 to 2022, average annual rates of growth with regard to bauxite imports into Argentina stood at X%. At the same time, Peru (X%) and Ecuador (X%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Peru emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in Latin America and the Caribbean, with a CAGR of X% from 2012-2022. Uruguay experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. In value terms, Argentina ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported bauxite in Latin America and the Caribbean, comprising X% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by Mexico ($X), with an X% share of total imports. It was followed by Colombia, with a X% share.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of value in Argentina amounted to X%. The remaining importing countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Mexico (X% per year) and Colombia (X% per year).

Import Prices by Country

In 2022, the import price in Latin America and the Caribbean amounted to $X per ton, with an increase of X% against the previous year. Overall, the import price showed pronounced growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 an increase of X%. Over the period under review, import prices attained the maximum at $X per ton in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, import prices remained at a lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Mexico ($X per ton), while Ecuador ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
